About Owensboro Local

Owensboro Local is a small, independent site run by an Owensboro-area local. It started as a personal list of places worth knowing about and things worth buying, and grew into something worth sharing.

What you'll find here

• Local guides to Owensboro, Henderson and the Evansville area: cheap places to eat, free things to do, day trips and yearly events.
• Buying guides that explain what to look for and show real prices on a stated date.

How the site is written

• Every place and event links to its official website or a government or tourism source so you can check it yourself.
• We don't publish made-up reviews or star ratings, and we don't claim to have tested products we haven't tested.
• Prices are labeled with the date they were checked. Prices change, so the store's page is always the final word.
• Research and first drafts are done with help from software tools, then reviewed and edited by a person.

How the site makes money

Some links are affiliate links, which means the site may earn a small commission if you buy through them, at no extra cost to you. That never changes what we recommend. See the affiliate disclosure for details.
