Keep track of every application
When you're sending a lot of applications, it's easy to forget where you applied and when to follow up. The site's own Job Search Tracker comes as a Google Sheet, Notion template, Todoist project or printable PDF.
For video interviews
Clip-on video conference light
Clips to a laptop or monitor so your face isn't lit from behind by a window. Lighting matters more than the camera.
Logitech H390 USB headset
A wired USB headset with a boom mic. Cuts echo and background noise on calls, and there's no battery to die mid-interview.
For in-person interviews
ZESICA wide-leg dress pants
Women's business-casual trousers with pockets. Pair with a plain top or blazer for an office or county-government interview.
Samsill professional padfolio
Holds printed copies of your resume, a reference list and a notepad, so you're not juggling loose paper.
Books worth reading
What Color Is Your Parachute?
The long-running job-hunting guide: figuring out what you want, resumes, interviews and salary talks. Your library may have a copy too.
What Color Is Your Parachute? Job-Hunter's Workbook
The fill-in-the-blanks companion, if you'd rather work through exercises than read.
