Pickup vs. shipping: buying a PC near Owensboro

If you need a computer today, where you buy matters as much as what you buy. Here's how the big retailers compared when we checked on Oct 30, 2026, for ZIP codes in Owensboro, Henderson and Evansville.

What we found (Oct 30, 2026)

• Best Buy: several gaming towers showed same-day store pickup at the Evansville store. Most of the same models showed home delivery a few days out. See the pickup list.
• Amazon: some towers showed next-day delivery to Owensboro, but no store pickup.
• Walmart and Target: both offer store pickup in the area. Check each item's pickup option on their sites for your nearest store.
• Newegg: ships only, with no local pickup. Check the delivery date for your ZIP code on each item.

When pickup wins

• You need it today or tomorrow.
• You want to return it in person if something's wrong.
• You'd rather not leave an expensive box on the porch.

When shipping wins

• The model you want isn't stocked locally.
• Shipping is free and you can wait a few days.
• A third-party seller has a better price. Check the seller's ratings and return policy first.

Tips

• Set your store and ZIP code on the retailer's site before searching, so pickup filters show the right store.
• Prices and pickup availability can change within hours. Re-check right before you leave.
• Bring ID and your order confirmation when you pick up.
